U17 Premier League:
Lakewood 2 St Mary’s 0
Luke Hurley scored the 1st, placing his diving header wide of the keeper from a Conor McGoldrick free-kick, both centre-backs linking up. Nikita had won the free, he had earlier been unlucky to see his own free-kick well saved down low in the corner.
A busy Dan Donovan got the vital 2nd, driving the ball top corner from the edge of the box, having been teed up by Jake Draper, after good overlapping work by Liam Edwards, to connect well with Ryan Nolan up the left.
This was a feature, both full-backs, Brian Elliott also on the right, got up and down the line regularly.
Also, Patrick O’Neill, in goal for the day, caught every cross and corner and made a critical save at 0-0, diving bravely at the feet of the striker who had broken clear.  He, and a solid display from his back four, earned this valuable clean-sheet. And a hard working contribution across the midfield, where Josh Cotter and Seth Thornton worked tirelessly together in the centre, with Tommie adding fresh legs out wide in the 2nd half.
