Lakewood U14a travelled out to play title contenders Kinsale on a fine crisp winters morning. Kinsale are flying high with only Lakewoods win against them last August spoiling their perfect record. The Lakewood team had the bare minimum of players as many regular players were missing and this big physical Kinsale team dominated for spells. Lakewoods plight wasn’t aided by picking up further injuries during the match and they played the last 20 minutes with just 10 men as the bench had been exhausted. Fine saves by Dave Hurley in goal prevented further goals as Kinsale sought revenge for their loss earlier in the season. Kinsale ended comfortable winners in this feisty match which leaves both teams honours even in their league encounters this season.
