A well deserved win at Douglas Hall for this team to carry on their unbeaten run in the league since September last year when this same Douglas Hall team won at Lakewood. This victory takes the boys up to second in the league with 6 games remaining. It really was a game of two halves with Lakewood dominant after 10 minutes and going in 5 nil ahead at the break. Douglas Hall came out revitalised after half time but it was the visitors who scored first after a few minutes to go 6 up. A couple of goals for Douglas Hall and they were back in the game pressuring Lakewood, who were giving away loose balls in their own half. A last Lakewood goal took it to 7 – 3 to secure the victory and take all 3 points back to Lakewood. The scoreline could have been different if it wasn’t for the stand in keeper for the day, Bradley Keane, who made 4 great saves to ensure the victory. Best comment of the day was a shout of ‘Finish your dinner!’ to Fintan O’Leary who had beaten several defenders before nicely scoring with a call of ‘Yum yum’. A Great team performance once more as the lads get stronger and stronger and grow in confidence. Scorers were Sean O’Sullivan (2), Fintan, Paul Omoshule, Owen Beamish, Kerry William and an OG.
