To bounce back from the mid week league defeat was never going to be easy and the Wilton team tested the Lakewood resilience.

Megan Sheehan broke the deadlock after 25 minutes, meeting a cross from Niamh O’Donoghue and powering the ball to the net in the 6 yard box. Ally Hurley added the second with a slotted ball from Claire Nevin that split the defence, Hurley’s sublime lofted shot dipped into the top left corner.

2-0 half time.  Lauryn Murphy in goals for Lakewood and the Wilton keeper pulling off some great saves as the game was still in the balance early in the second half.  Wilton pulled back one, failing to make a clearance in the Lakewood defence the blockdown from the Wilton striker rebounded into the net.

Sheehan turned provider for the third goal after good work by her down the right wing. Her pull back found Daire Kiely who make no mistake in finding the target.

Great support for the players on the line from family and friends.
