U13 Local Cup
Everton 7 Lakewood Athletic B 2

Everton are topping Division 1 with no defeats in 9 matches and their quality shone through from the off. Lakewood were playing catch up after a few minutes as this fast and powerful team, with great interplay, had them on the score sheet after2 minutes. The Lakewood boys sheer determination kept them in the game with a score line of 3-1 after a nicely worked goal by Kerry William saw him go through the Everton defence and slot it passed the keeper. A second blistering goal from Kerry gave him the brace. Beating a player on the right wing well outside the box, Kerry rocketed the ball into the far top corner as the keeper looked on. Lakewood created a few more chances during the game but couldn’t quite get the finish with Jake O’Kelly going closest with his distance shot going inches over the crossbar. Jack Davis, as today’s stand in keeper, saved numerous shots but Lakewood couldn’t give the Everton team any more shocks after the first half. A strong performance from the Lakewood boys against tough opposition that will hopefully stand to them in their league campaign.
