Lakewood 2- Mallow 1
Lakewood confirmed Premier Division status for next year with a stylish and impressive win over Mallow Town. Playing flowing football ahead of a strong defence Lakewood started brightly and created multiple chances with Sean Kirby and Sean Richmond causing Mallow all sorts of problems. Mallow grabbed a counterattacking goal against the run of play but we held our nerve and continued attacking. We were rewarded when Jonny Galvin netted a superb free kick on the edge of the box before the break after our keeper James O’keeffe had brilliantly stopped a dubious penalty at the other end. Sean Richmond sealed the win mid way through the second half with a cool finish.
