Lakewood keeper Lauryn Murphy pulled off a superb save on the 6th penalty to put the Seniors through to their second National semifinal on the hop.
A blistering start saw Lakewood stun the home team with a 2 goal lead within 7 minutes. Eimear Knightly finding the net on both occassions after great attacking football. Peamount responded and were level by 20th minute from a corner and open play.
On a hot sticky day a lot of the pace was drained from the game and it remained 2-2 till the final final whistle. Lakewood having the better goal opportunities saved and missed. The team showed great character, never giving up on creating chances.
Murphy proved the hero on the day with 2 saves from the shoot out. The squad March on to Semifinal weekend of August 6th. Open draw to take place in the next few weeks
