Cork Women’s Soccer Challenge Cup Semi-Final

Lakewood 1 – 0 Riverstown

0-0 half time despite having most of the possession, Lakewood in the first half produced a few long range shots that caused little trouble for the Riverstown defense in what was a very tight game.

The deadlock was broken on the 82nd minute with good interlinking play on the right from Melissa Finn and Megan Sheehan. The pull back across the box found Christine Coffey who slotted it low past the Riverstown keeper.

The result sets up a final showdown against premier rivals Wilton, date to be confirmed.

Taking good momentum into the next game which is the National Intermediate Cup Quarter Final away to Peamount on Sunday 9th, KO 2pm in Greenogue, Dublin.
