Lakewood beat Richmond in a thrilling encounter tonight. Richmond had the upper hand for the first 10 mins then Lakewood settled and play was even for the remainder of the half.Cathal O Driscoll made 2 outstanding saves to keep it scoreless.Both sides had a good few corners but no one managed to score 0-0 at half time.
Richmond came strong from the tip off and the backs had there work cut out for the first 15 mins of the half. Evan O Driscoll Alex Mullins and Luke Harris were solid but eventually an awkward bounce sent the ball into the net giving Richmond the lead.
Arron Murphy, and Shadrach Mnamnan were unlucky not to score with 2 individual runs. Lakewood kept up the pressure and after 4 corners Rory O Flynn hit the back of the net. 1-1. Lakewood went full steam and our relentless attacks resulted in a great goal with Shadrach and Christian combining to set Rory up again with a great strike to give Lakewood the lead 5 mins from time.
