Having beaten Richmond 5-2 in the league 2 weeks earlier, confidence was high going into tonights cup tie and the lads didn’t disappoint. Lakewood started strong, Paul Omoshule and captain Luke Harris battled hard in midfield and gained control early in the game. Lakewood had a few great chances early on and Shadrach was first to get on the score sheet after about 10 mins. Heidi o’Sullivan was next to score 5 mins later with a rocket to the roof of the net and Pete Kelly got his first of night before the 20 min mark. Arron Murphy was on target again tonight and Pete finished off the half with another goal . 5-0
Ciaran Buckleys huge work rate up the left wing was rewarded with a goal after 15 mins, and Pete secured his hat-trick shortly after. Richmond never gave up ans pulled one back from a corner a few minutes from time.
A great team effort tonight, great footbal to watch and great result.
