A very disappointed Lakewood will reflect on a calamitous 10 minute spell in the second half when Bandon hit 3 goals to effectively kill off a Lakewood team who up to then had shaded an intriguing cup tie. 2-2 at the time, Lakewood had fallen behind early on before Fionn OShea (pen) and Conor Eagles had put them ahead.
5-2 down Lakewood threw everything at the visitors and two lovely finishes from Jack Mellerick had Bandon clinging on in the final minutes before time ran out on their valiant efforts to force extra time.
Best for Lakewood were Fionn, Jack, Nathan Davis and Daniel Walsh.
