The premier side always had too much for a spirited Bandon side but were very lethargic and lazy in the first half before a half time rollicking drove them to perform a lot better in the second period.
Coasting at 3-1 up following goals from Tadgh Oconnell and Shane Hughes – both from corners and a low drive from Colm Quigley they conceded 2 sloppy goals to leave it 3-3 at the break. The second half was much better and a super hat trick by Jamie Dineen saw Lakewood comfortably advance to the next round with a 6-3 victory.
