Lakewoods U12A took an important 3 points at Rockmount this morning with a 3-0 victory.
From the tip off Lakewood chased every loose ball and and put pressure on the home team.
Attacks down both wings almost paid off in the early minutes and the Rockmount keeper was forced to make 2 good saves with shots from Christian Warren and Dylan Quinn.
Lakewood were almost caught with a great counter attack in the 15th min but the safe hands of Cathal O Driscoll in goal kept it scoreless with a great diving save followed by a fearless dive to cover the rebound which saw him take a heavy kick to the hand. A free kick out won by Christian who passed it forward to Dylan saw another great attack which resulted in a goal for Midfielder Harry Mc Ginn after a pass back into space from Dylan, about 5 mins from the break. Shadrach was also very unlucky not to score before half time.
After the break Rockmount tried the long ball attack to get past Lakewoods defence but Luke, Evan and Alex were too quick getting back for them to score. 10 minutes in and a lovely series of quick passes,Barcelona style, between Evan,Shadrach and Arron Murphy got inside the defence. A pass into the centre where Fintan was waiting resulted in a second goal after he done some fancy footwork to round the centre back and let fly with a rocket passed the keeper.

Cathal was off his line like a shot to prevent the home team pulling one back 2 mins later after another quick counter attack.
10 mins to go and captain Alex Kavanagh started a move which saw Arron Murphy score from a tight angle after a weaving run past 2 defenders.
