A rub of the green cost Lakewood a share of the points in a keenly contested game in Cobh in very difficult weather conditions. Having gone behind in the first few minutes Lakewood replied through Sean O Hanlon Lane who finished coolly from an Evan Dodd through ball. But having gone behind again before the break the mood was upbeat in the expectation of the benefits of a huge wind in the second half. Unfortunately the weather advantage was not as strong in the second half and despite having hit the woodwork Lakewood rued a number of clear cut chances to improve the result .
