U15 National Cup.
Lakewood Athletic 1 Mallow utd 5
Lakewood welcomed undefeated  Premier league leaders  Mallow utd to ovens for a 4th round national cup game and really put it up to the visitors before a couple of late goals gave the scoreboard a lopsided look.
Lakewood stunned the visitors early on when Fionn OShea smashed home from 18yards and with the players sticking excellently  to the game plan, continually frustrated the visitors until slack marking from a corner allowed time for Mallow’s centre back to volley home the equaliser on the half hour and just on half time a low driven cross was sliced in to give Mallow a 2-1 interval lead. Mallow continued to have a lot of possession but great defending from Olan Buckley at makeshift centre back with Nathan Davis and good handling from stand in keeper Morgan Foley kept the visitors at bay until a tiring Lakewood conceded a few in the final quarter. Great teamwork and commitment shown again by the available  lads though short many of the squad for various reasons
Well done on making Mallow really work for their win.
