Lakewood progressed to the next round of the local cup with a deserved victory over visitors Leeds. Fionn OSheas strike on 20mins was enough to gain the result and Lakewood could and possibly should have added to that with a very good all round performance, especially in the first half where Paddy Cronin and Michael Murphy dominated the middle of the park for Lakewood. Eoghan O’Sullivan was always a threat going forward and captain Nathan Davis alongside u14 player Luke Harris snuffed out the Leeds attack. As Leeds pushed hard in the final quarter Dave Hurley in goal was in unbeatable form and Lakewood held shape well to preserve the clean sheet and see out the final minutes for a very pleasing victory.
