The home team received an early Christmas present today as an under strength Douglas Hall team visited the Lakewood all weather. Lakewood were looking to secure the 3 points they left at Douglas Hall earlier in the season after leading 3-1 but finishing with only a draw. The Lakewood team today is a different animal from earlier in the season as this team grows in strength and confidence game on game. The first half went Lakewoods way with the opening goal in the first few minutes. At half-time Lakewood were 4 up after a brace from Oscar Rickard, 1 from Kerry William and 1 from Jack Brady. Douglas Hall came out fighting in the second half and gave the home team a few scares before Lakewood threatened again. A further hatrick from Jack Brady in the second half after great interplay throughout the team secured the win and importantly this teams first clean sheet this season. Huge congratulations to the team on the clean sheet and specifically the back 4 rocks in Jack O’Sullivan, Adam English, Diarmuid O’Keeffe and Arran Smyth, Jack Davis in front of them and Luke Davis between the sticks.
