Lakewood Athletic 4
Blarney Utd 2
The u14s continue to impress and chalked up another 3pts with a solid performance at home to Blarney. Immediately on the front foot Lakewood attacked down the right side and Michael Murphy whipped in a lovely cross which was deftly glanced home by Jamie Dineen with only 90 seconds on the clock. Blarney were lucky to escape further punishment as their insistence on playing out from the back and good pressure from Lakewood created a few more chances for the home team. Then out of the blue it was 1-1 as a long high free kick was parried down by Michael Brennan and the rebound was swept home by the inrushing striker. Daniel O Driscoll made it 2-1 with a hard low drive across the keeper before another long free was adjudged to have crossed the line before Michael Palmed it away for 2-2
Jamie Dineen stroked home Lakewoods third before the break and Michael Murphy capped a fine display with a neat lob over the keeper for the only goal of the second half to leave it 4-2 to Lakewood and preserve their unbeaten start to the season.
