Lakewood U13a finished off their season on Saturday with another impressive display in a 6-1 win over Killreen Celtic.
Killreen started well but Lakewoods rock solid backs Sean O’Neill,Luke Harris ,Alex Kavanaugh and Barry Keane cut out any attacks in the first few minutes. Once Lakewood settled into the game after 5 mins the assault started. Brian Dore scored first, with an amazing solo goal after winning the ball in his own box, he ran up the right wing through 4 players and buried it from 10 yards out.
Christian Warren scored with another of his rocket shots from the edge of the box. Cathal O Driscoll had to make a terrific save after Killreens 10 broke through for a 1v1.
Brian scored another just before the break.
Dylan Quinn scored soon after the restart with a lovely strike into the bottom right corner Killreen came back into it and scored soon after. But almost in reply Pete Kelly scored a minute later. Rory O Flynn finished off the home side with another with 5 mins to go.
6 – 1 to Lakewood
Promotion to Div 2 next year for the lads is a well deserved reward after a great season.
