13s secure semi-final spot with 6-1 win.
The 13a squad continued their march to final with another great win today. Blarney were going all out from the start and really pushed for the first 10 mins. But lakewoods backs kept pushing them back.
Lakewood soon made the most of Blarney commiting players forward, when Ciaran Buckley slotted one home . 15 mins in and Shadrach mnaman was next to score with a curling shot into the top left corner. Alex Kavanagh in goal made a Lakewood were setting a quick pace to the game now with relentless attacks up both sides and closing down Blarney quickly when they had posession. A third goal came courtesy of Ciaran Buckley his second of the day. Blarney pulled one back just before the break after a mis-communication at the back let their forward through.
3-1 at halftime.
A change in formation to a more defensive 4 1 311 was decided on at the break but it seemed to have the an added effect and lakewood really pressured the Blarney goal. Dylan Quinn had a free kick saved .Shadrach scored a second from 30yrds out on the right wing with a dipping shot that beat the keeper into the left top corner. 4-1
Lakewood had 3 disallowed goals for offside as the game went on but Pete kelly and Alex o regan each scored before the whistle to finish off the visitors. 6-1.
Very proud of every one of the lads. Brilliant…….again.
