U12 Premier team through to Quarter Finals of Local Cup following 2-0 victory over Buttevant. Solid performance where Lakewood dominated 70% of possession and 90% of goal chances, but still went to extra time because of outstanding goalkeeping by Buttevant keeper. In the first period of extra time two superb goals sealed the win for LAKEWOOD. First Ben O’Connell found the net with a brilliant 35 yard drive. Two minutes later Jonny Galvin (who had tormented Buttevant all day long ) found himself one on one with the keeper and slotted home. The other notable highlight was a fantastic spot kick save by Lakewood’s keeper Brendan Lenihan in the first half of the game. We now meet Douglas Hall in the Quarter Finals.
