Lakewood Athletic B 1 – Leeside A 3
A poor result ended Lakewood’s unbeaten league run from September last year. Even with a few players missing the game started well enough for Lakewood with Leeside not getting into Lakewood’s half. The opening goal went the way of the home team with a great free kick from Jake O’Kelly on 8 minutes. The visitors were level soon after as the Lakewood players were caught out of position looking for more goals. Half time and level with everything to play for. However Lakewood came out with their heads down in the second half as Leeside’s confidence grew and they built on this with 2 more goals. The score line could have been worse if it wasn’t for some great saves by James O’Keeffe in goal. A hugely disappointing result but we pick ourselves up and play at Leeside next week.
