U13 Div 3

Innishvilla 1 Lakewood A 3

2nd place U13a s travelled to 3rd place Innishvilla for a must win game on Thursday evening and focused on the task in hand right from the whistle.
Playing into the wind in the first half the first few attacks were over hit or swung back out with the breeze, but 10 minutes in Rory O Flynn hit the net after Sean o Neill and Ciaran Buckley worked a brilliant overlap past two defenders and delivered a quality cross into Rory. A very in form Ciaran Buckley slotted another home before the break.
Innishvilla got a lifeline early in the second half after a penalty was awarded for a questionable handball on the edge of the area. 2-1.
From then on Lakewood upped the pressure and Arron Murphy , Dylan Quinn and Ciaran were just off target. Innishvillas centre back miskicked the ball while under pressure from Brian Dore and Rory, beautifully lobbed the keeper. The last five minutes were all Lakewood and the shots kept coming. Sean and Barry Keane had shots go just wide in the dying minutes. As did centre back Alex Kavanaugh with a shot from well inside his own half narrowly missing the target.
Great result which pretty much secures promotion to Division 2 next year for the lads.
Last game is on Saturday vs KIllreen.
Well done lads.
