U16 Girls Premier League: Lakewood 7 – 0 Hollyhill (2:0 HT).

Lakewood U16 girls got their premier league campaign off to an excellent start today in Ovens. Two first half goals in the 20th& 30th minute from Heidi O Sullivan and Lauren Singleton set the tone for the game against a resilient Hollyhill side whose keeper was excellent.

In the second half Lakewood’s dominance began to show with Eabha O Mahoney scoring a brace, along with Lucy Cronin, Laura Hill and Heidi O Sullivan adding her second.

Overall a positive start to the league for Lakewood with some excellent football played at times.

Several players playing exceptionally well, Zara Foley worked tirelessly all afternoon with an assist in many of the goals, defensively Amy O Carroll, Grace Oldham, Ciara Lee, Sadbh McGoldrick and Emily Shanahan gave an assured performance.

A good performance ahead of the National Cup Fixture away to Listowel next weekend which sees them in the last 32, the remaining 2 teams of the South West region.
