Lakewood Athletic FC hosted a Frame Football demonstration from Esker Celtic frame football team in Lucan, Dublin. The club hope to develop a new team for walking frame users aged 5 – 18 in Cork and possibly the surrounding counties.
The FAI Football For All programme coordinated in Munster by Nick Harrison is working with Fergus Buckley the club’s treasurer to grow this new venture. Frame Football is very similar to the mainstream game played between 2 small teams of frame users with a few simple rule changes that make it run more smoothly.
The hope is to grow a further groups in the South East and create a national league.
