A tough first half lesson for Lakewood who found themselves 5 down at half time as Corinthians capitalised on some very poor Lakewood defending and commitment to score some soft goals. The half time options were either lay down and capitulate completely or roll up the sleeves and show some character and pride.
Thankfully the latter was the case as to a man Lakewood showed tremendous heart and fight to go at the hosts and were rewarded when the excellent Paddy Cronin forced home Jack Mellericks corner 15mins in . Now winning all the personal battles and working very hard Lakewood came close on further occasions without reward and Corinthians scored again in the final quarter. Captain Nathan Davis led by example and Dave Hurley, Reece Parsons, Jack and Paddy stood out in an excellent second half team effort.
