The FAI  in conjunction with Lakewood F C are holding a football for all Festival on Sat July 1st from 12 noon to 3pm

Essentially there are four different activities over the three hours –
Junior Blitz
This is a 5 a side run between the 5 Cork Clubs that are already running this programme – Pearse Celtic/Carrigaline/Midleton/Mallow and Skibbereen. It is expected that there will be 70 kids involved in this programme. The games will be played on a small pitch. With 4 games going at the same time
This competition will run from 12- 2pm
Blind Football
This will run on the all weather starting at 12. There will be a team from Dublin and another from Cork – mixture of adults and children.
Integrated Blitz
This is a match between teams made up of players with intellectual disabilities and others. The Ballincollig Special Olympics squad are participating together with a a team from Leeds. . Games, which are 11 a side, will take place on a full pitch.
Walking Football
This is something the FAI are trying to get going. The games are 5 a side and are not necessarily targeted at those with disabilities and can therefore include those who are less mobile for whatever reason!. If you run you are disqualified.  At present he has three clubs confirmed – Leeds, Carrigaline, and is hopeful Midleton will also come with a team. He asks if we could enter a team – and points out that the Leeds team is drawn from their management committee. I`m sure we should not read anything into that.
So it sounds  like a great day of Football so if around please come and support
