Lakewood advance to 5th round of FAI Junior cup.
Lakewood are into the open draw of FAI Juniorafter a 2-1 win against Carrigaline. Dan O’Callaghan scored early for the home side who played some great football throughout the match. Lakewood created a number of chances but found the Carrigaline goalkeeper in fine form. He made 2 fantastic saves from Kenny Murphy to keep it 1-0 at half time.
Early in the second half Kenny pounced on a short back pass to make it 2-0. Lakewood continued to control the game but failed to get the all important third goal and Carrigaline pulled one back with 25mins left. They threw everything at lakewood looking for the equaliser but the home defense stood strong. Great all round team performance with special mention for Bryan Kelly who marshaled the defense and won every header. Next up is Munster junior cup away to village.
