Delighted to see Eabha and Zara receiving their International Cap from Head Coach Colin Bell. Both players have worked so hard on an off the pitch in preparation for the tournament. It’s been a tournament of mixed results having lost one and won one, the U17’s are still fighting for the qualifying spot for the EUROS. The final elite round qualifying game against the reigning European Champions Germany kicking off at 10am Irish time on Wednesday 28th March. Fellow Corkonians Lauren Egbuloniu (Passage AFC) and Rachel O’Regan (Carrigaline) are also important players in the U17 squad, with all games from the group taking place in Germany.
The German team, having won both of their elite round games against Azerbaijan and Iceland, no doubt are favourites to take the top spot. The seven group winners from this elite round qualify to join Lithuania in the finals from 9 to 21 May. Unfortunately no second chances for runner up in the group.
