Lakewood 5-2 Richmond.
Richmond v Lakewood is always a thriller and tonights game proved to be another. The first half was very even with both teams having a number of great chances. But Richmond were to be the luckier side before the break and managed to bag 2 just 5 minutes from half-time.
A goal can do wonders to lift the heads and 5 minutes in Arron Murphy started the comeback with his first of the night after a great assist from Arron Mc. Confidence back, Heidi O’Sullivan was next to find the target with a great edge of the box strike to the keepers far side. Richmond battled back hard and looked like scoring a few times but Stephen Naughton and Alex o’regan in defence were outstanding tonight.
Christian warren struck next with a rocket after a great pass into space in front him from Arron Murphy.
Richmond could sense defeat and started to make mistakes. One of which resulted in a free kick. Heidi stepped up to take it. It went over the defence and dipped into the far bottom right corner, leaving the keeper looking dazed. Arron finished off the home side with a lovely little flick on sending the keeper the wrong way.
Brilliant team performance tonight and we play Richmond again in the cup in a few weeks.
