Lakewood U13B vs Carrigaline Utd U13B
A glorious morning at Ballea Park had Carrigaline United U13B hosting Lakewood Athletic U13B in the opening game in the 2017/18 season. Both teams started out nervously with fairly even play until Lakewood took the lead at 10 minutes with Moeez’s fine left foot strike from the left side went over the keeper into the far corner. Successive goals from Lakewood went unanswered and Lakewood started to dominate with fine passing from all players. Half time had Lakewood 5 – 0 up. Much of the same in the second half but Carrigaline came out with more determination then ever but just got caught on the break to concede a few more goals. Carrigaline were awarded a penalty but unfortunately for them it went wide of the target. Carrigaline also had a great shot on target that replacement Lakewood keeper Owen saved miraculously. At the end of the game the 12 man Lakewood squad managed to keep a clean sheet and get their first victory of the season. Well done lads and enjoy the hard earned victory but remember we may be on the losing side next time if we don’t keep up the hard work. Great unselfish team play lads which can be seen in the number of players scoring.
