No Luck for Juniors in Tower

Lakewood lost out in a tight game and ended the game with 9 men.

The first half was scoreless as Lakewood found it hard to get going on a heavy pitch.

Early in the second half the away team were harshly reduced to 10 men. This was the turning point and a few minutes later Lakewood came close to taking the lead when the home keeper saved a close range effort from Jonny Higgins. Tower then broke quickly and went 1 up. As Lakewood pushed for the equalizer Tower broke and scored with an excellent volley to make it 2-0. With 20 mins remaining Dan O’Callagan pulled one back volleying home after a fine free kick from Robbie Ahern. Again Lakewood pushed for the leveler but it wasn’t to be their day. Tower scored their third with 10 mins left in the final few minutes Lakewood had another man sent off.

We dust ourselves down and go again next week at home to Leeview on Saturday at 2pm.
