It was a bright start from the Lakewood Rangers team and they settled into the game quickly.
Chloe O’Donovan got on the ball early and linking up with Michelle McNally creating good chances early on. Kelly Buckley was unlucky not to open the scoring with a through ball from centre back Niamh O’Leary. It was 5mins before half time that the deadlock was broken. Sinead Kelly picked up the kick out from Laura O’Donovan and the pace of Chloe O’Donovan caught the defense as she slotted home the opener.

Michelle McNallyInto the second half and Lakewood Rangers should’ve had two more early on. Sinead Kelly reacting quickest to a blocked shot but it narrowly missed. It was McNally that put daylight between the teams. A move which started with the impressive link up play between Rachel Cronin and Zoe O’Rourke. A clever pass to Kelly who’s through ball into path of McNally was sublime, she made no mistake in doubling the lead.

It was a lively performance from DELL EMC, a breakaway late in the game forced Lauren Murphy into action with a great save. It was a nervy ending for the Rangers team as DELL EMC were awarded a penalty with minutes on the clock.

Great start for this new team in Lakewood.
