Juniors Advance in Munster Junior Cup

Juniors win 2-1 Friday night away to Leeview in MJC 2nd round.

Lakewood were on top for most of the game but failed to take advantage of 2 excellent opportunities in the first 30 minutes. The first goal came at end of first half with a great turn and finish by Kenny Murphy.

2nd half was scrappy with neither side creating any chances until Kenny Murphy went on a blistering run beating 4 defenders and finished into the top corner. Leeview got a goal back with 5 minutes remaining and Lakewood were on the back foot. James (smurf) Murphy who was celebrating his birthday made an excellent save deep into injury time to deny Leeview a draw.

Stand out performer on the night was Dan o Callaghan. Lakewood march onto the next round where they will play the winners of Village and Carrigtohill
